Unlocking Neurodiverse Potential: The Mission Behind Mentra by Ebuka Emelumadu

Mentra exists to unlock the potential of neurodiverse individuals in the workforce. Inspired by her non-speaking autistic brother Vikram, Jhillika Kumar founded Mentra to create a world where neurodiverse strengths are recognized and celebrated. Working with Conner Reinhardt and Professor Gregory Abowd at Georgia Tech, Jhillika sought to challenge traditional hiring practices that often overlook neurodiverse talent.

Mentra is more than a job platform—it’s about building careers that align with each person’s unique abilities and preferences. By including neurodiverse individuals in leadership roles and adhering to the principle “Nothing about us, without us,” Mentra ensures that the community’s voices shape their mission. Their goal is to create an inclusive workforce where diversity is valued, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
