Creating an Impactful Resume by Jake Mok
Resumes are one of the most important factors that can influence whether you get your dream job or not.
1. Create a Specific Resume
Think of your resume as a snapshot of who you are for that specific job. Rather than sending
the same version everywhere, pick out the parts of your experience that really align with what
this job is asking for. A tailored resume shows you’re genuinely interested.
2. Include Actual Numbers and Statistics
Wherever you can, add numbers to back up your experience. For example, instead of saying
“Handled customer feedback,” try something like “Helped boost customer satisfaction scores by
15%.” Even small numbers can show you made a real difference.
3. Keep It Clear
A simple, easy-to-read layout is key. Most employers don’t want to read multiple pages on your
resume when it can be boiled down to one page. Using clean fonts and clear sections will make
it easy for recruiters to see the essentials at a glance.
