Set the TEMPO: Professional Business Training For Your Needs

I am a sophomore at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, and am currently an intern at Braathe Enterprises. I recently got the chance to interview the owner of Braathe Enterprises, Robert Braathe, about one of the enterprise’s organizations: TEMPO Business Training. I learned a lot from this interview about the company, how it began, and how they help companies develop and work on essential skills and topics.
So why did Robert Braathe start the organization? He founded the company after working at Disney, Gap, and Apple, where he trained employees. He felt there was a need for more internal training within businesses. TEMPO Business Training is based in Saratoga Springs, New York, and provides customized courses and training for businesses on various topics integral to the workplace.
Training is offered in business communications, project management, professional selling & sales management, and curriculum development. TEMPO has been in business for close to 20 years and has worked with nearly 50 different organizations! The firm works with both large and small companies — from Apple and Gap to smaller, local businesses.
What does a company receive when they sign up for TEMPO’s services? TEMPO is based on the framework of Time, Energy, Money, Power, and Opportunity, which forms the foundation of their curriculum. These elements are embedded in each workshop or retreat. Course programs are offered as half-day, full-day, or multi-part classes that span over a few weeks, allowing businesses to choose what works best for them.
Common topics covered in classes include emotional intelligence, leadership, project management, and networking. The courses also teach many practical workplace skills — from time and energy management to financial management. Outside guests are also brought into courses to enhance the experience for attendees.
The company offers unique personal benefits to participants. Each employee receives surveys before and after the program to gauge their feedback. They also get two or three fifteen-minute calls with Robert Braathe during the course, where they can ask questions or discuss topics in more depth.
